Holistic Community Transformation In Kafue, Zambia
Meet Wafuka & Lilly Kapolesa, and their team who run Pure Nard Ministries.
Wafuka and Lilly served our projects in Eswatini for many years before feeling called to move back to Zambia, Wafuka's home country, to begin the Eswatini model of community transformation within Zambia. The Kapolesas have now been leading Pure Nard Ministries for over 10 years and have seen the Lord's hand empowering the ministry to bring life-changing solutions and interventions to their communities.

Food Security
The ministry is providing emergency meals to families in extreme poverty. They also offer a warm meal for the children attending the kindergarten. For many of the children, this will be their first and only meal of the day.
OUR PILLARS IN ZAMBIA
Reliable Energy
Using the manure from the piggery and poultry, the team is able to generate cooking gas in a natural digestor system. This powers all cooking stoves and ovens in the main kitchen.
Education
Through the kindergarten program, hundreds of children have been provided an early childhood education, giving them an academic leg up. In Kafue, there are no other pre-schools available to children in poverty.
Sustainable Economic Development
The care and outreach efforts are made sustainable through agricultural enterprises. Pure Nard Ministries operates a large-scale poultry farm with over 12,000 egg-laying chickens as well as piggery that supplies hundreds of pigs to the local abattoir every year.
Spiritual Support
At the center of the work in Zambia is the church, bringing evangelism and discipleship to every community that Pure Nard Ministries enters. Beyond typical discipleship is the Teen Challenge residential care center that is discipling men with life-controlling habits, bringing hope and freedom.
