UPLIFTING THE COMMUNITY OF OKOUVWORI VILLAGE IN THE OKPE REGION OF NIGERIA

In 2018 Partners in Action joined together with Mission Africa to lift up the Okuovwori Village community in Sapele, Nigeria.  Our goal is to create sustainable economic enterprise that will provide jobs to members of the community and over time create a sustainable and prosperous economy for its members.

  • We have trained 45 people in organic farming.

  • After a short break due to Covid-19, we continue to run organic farming classes at the Community Center and we now added two satellite training locations.

  • We have a small farm in a nearby location that is generating income for the items we produce.

  • Our shoemaking factory employs 6 workers and three trainees.  We continue to make container shoes worn by schoolchildren and we are adding our second product line - ladies slippers and sandals.
