Flood Ravages Mozambique - Thousands Homeless Mozambique, Africa --
The flood directly affected one of the ministries we support, IRIS Ministry. Thousands of people have lost their homes, shelter, food, and drinkable water. They literally have nothing. Cyclones have contributed further to the devastation. Some people have not eaten for three weeks. Aid agencies seem to be unaware of them, and no help has been forthcoming apart from what Iris Ministries has provided so far. Refugees from Malawi are crossing the border to Mozambique in canoes, desperately seeking food that is unavailable. To read more on this, click here.
Seventh Year of Hunger Southern Africa -- There are many challenges we face as we offer hope and aid to those living in Third World countries. It makes our care even more difficult with food supplies that are affected by natural disasters. Flooding and dry spells have drastically reduced crops in many of the African areas where

74% of AIDs Victims in Sub-Sahara Africa are Women Africa -- The plight of AIDs in Africa is staggering. What makes this statistic even more horrific is that women are the primary caregivers for their families. Although this problem is pervasive throughout Africa, it is especially so in Swaziland. Civil Wars Still Impact Uganda Uganda, Africa -- Partners In Action has been a staunch supporter of homes in Uganda. The impact of continual civil wars are still felt. It's estimated that over 20,000 child have been abducted and recruited to fight in this war. It's especially dangerous for young male street childen. US Grapples with Homeless Problem United States -- The statistics on the homeless in the United States is heartbreaking. It knows no boundaries from the east to the west and the north to the south. An obvious extension of homelessness is lack of food. Partners In Action has been involved with this issue for many years with an endeavor we support in Arizona, The Love Kitchen. Desperate Plight of Nepal Slave Girls Nepal, India -- "There are at least 20,000 girls in western Nepal who are working as indentured domestic servants in conditions that amount to slavery. Parents send them away in exchange for a sum of money paid by landlords, who sometimes keep the girls for years." Partners In Action supports organizations in India that help to combat this problem.
