Currently, most of our donors support a home rather than an individual child. It is our philosophy to sponsor a home rather than a child because of the transient nature of the children at these homes. Often times, the children leave the homes for a variety of reasons including an extended family member may take them in, they may be too old to stay, or they simply may decide to leave. We spend quite a bit of time and effort to manage the children in each home. For individual child sponsorships, we are responsible to report back to our donors when the status of a child changes. This is extremely cost prohibitive.
A basic child sponsorship costs $30 a month or $360 a year. An advanced child sponsorship is $60 a month or $720 a year. All other donations vary depending on what you are led to give. Also, if you are a Be a Hero donor, there is an additional $3.00 handling fee per month to cover their cost of administration.
What does the cost of the sponsorship cover?
The cost of living varies from country to country so this affects the amount of donation that covers the child's needs. In some cases, we have multiple donors for the same child which helps us manage the cost-of-living fluctuation. However, in general, a basic sponsorship covers the basic care of a child including food, clothing, and shelter. An advanced sponsorship also covers the education and medical care of the child.

Do the children learn about God?
PIA is a Christ-centered ministry and all of our orphanages teach the children about Christ. It is in Him that we are able to truly make a difference with the children that we support. Each and every orphanage that we support has daily teachings and worship. We have ministry teams who visit on a regular basis to ensure that our guidelines are being followed and to make certain that the money is being spent appropriately and honestly. We also receive monthly updates from each orphanage that includes information on church, orphanage, and school's worship and teachings. We believe that "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27
Can I adopt a child through one of the orphanages?
At this time, PIA does not facilitate nor are we involved with adoptions through our homes.
