Throughout America today, there are more people locked up in jails andprisons than any other time in our nation's history. Every incarcerated person represents a suffering family.
Christ called us to proclaim the Gospel to all people (cf. Matthew 28:19). Many Christians in America have accepted this charge with zeal, supporting missions and traveling to the far corners of the world to proclaim the truth of Christ in strange cultures. The prisons of Arizona are populated by thousands of people desperately in need of the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, this enormous mission field is largely ignored by those of us who proclaim Christ. Like all of us, people in prison and their families need the love of Christ. Unlike most of us who live in this wealthy and secular culture, many people in prison and their families, by virtue of the horrifying circumstances of their lives, experience their need for God's love in a profound and direct way and are searching for some means of knowing Him.
We minister in the greater Phoenix Arizona area and believe that even the most hardened of criminals, or troubled youth offenders, can be touched and changed forever by the power and love of Jesus Christ. We provide visits those incarcerated in the City, County, State, and Federal systems and those young people in the Juvenile system. We provide over 20 worship services and baptize dozens of inmates per month. We distribute Bibles, New Testaments, Gospels of John, and role model books, to help assist inmates in their daily walk.
We not only provide free counseling and encouragement for those who are released but also provide low cost housing assistance to those trying to reestablishthemselves in the community. Our goal is to get those newly released involved in a local church as soon after release as possible.
