In Latin America and the Caribbean there are 8 million orphans out of a population of 162 million children (statistics from UNICEF). Each child has a story and if you heard only one story you would hear of the pain of abandonment, of fear, and of loss. The dream of a better life often ends in desperate situations within families when no work can be found and escape is sought in drugs or alcohol. As a result, the number of abandoned and abused children is continually increasing. We are helping to find shelter for Mexico's orphans.
