Mobile Medical Unit
In 2011 we are setting up the HFTN-Romania Mobile Medical Unit. This will be our primary focus in the coming years. This project will help countless people in the villages who desperately need medical and dental care. More information will be posted here as this project is realized.
Farms Project
After the revolution in 1989, the farm collectives of Romania faced the daunting reality that the land they farmed for the state would be sold to the highest bidder. The farmers and their children have been left to fend for themselves. In most cases they are illiterate and are finding it difficult to assimilate into modern society.
The Farm 10 & 11 project restored their dwellings and provides ongoing opportunity for education and general social assistance
Family and Child Sponsorship
Family and Child Sponsorship is the easiest way to help keep a child from a life on the streets. With simple intervention, and as little as 1 dollar a day, you can help to see a child live a more normal life and grow up with dignity.
Your support will pay for food, school uniforms, supplies, special attention and special learning programs. It also enables many children to attend school for the first time! As a Family or Child Sponsor, you will receive information, photos and updates on the family or child you are sponsoring. You will also be able to correspond with your sponsored family or child and begin a life long relationship. Sometimes it's the little things in life that make the most difference. Birth Parent Search (Romania)
If you or your children were adopted from Romania in the early 90's and would like assistance in searching for your birth parents, please CLICK HERE for details. We are in the midst of working with the Romanian Government and if the collaboration is approved, we may be able to help you.
International Medical Workshops (2009+)
This years workshop on Organ Malformation expanded quickly to include 30 doctors from Romania, The Republic of Moldavia, Austria, and Germany. 6 children were successfully operated on with life changing procedures which have now also been learned by doctors from all regions of Romania.
These doctors would otherwise not have had the skill to help children in their area. Since the workshop started, we discovered a staggering number of children with this condition. The joy we now have is that there are doctors throughout the country, and neighbouring countries. who can now perform these surgeries successfully! Our International Medical Workshop for 2011 is in Chisinau, The Republic of Moldova.
Home Care Diploma Course
Providing education that leads to jobs is one of our main endeavours. To this end, we are now a Registered EU recognized school offering Home Care Diploma courses in Romania. Our first course began in 2009 with 30 students from our farm projects and neighbouring communities. Most of the students only had a grade 8 education and as a result of this training, have a college level Diploma qualifying them to work as Home Care workers taking care of those who require this specialized care.
