A country of 24-million people, Uganda sits on the equator in East Africa and boasts of green, natural vegetation and a tropical climate. The country has suffered major setbacks in the past, yet its economic and civic futures look hopeful. However, many children have been orphaned due to the HIV/AIDS pandemic's sweeping effect on the country in the 1980's and 1990's. They are in desperate need of a healthy home environment in which to thrive.
