Maranatha Hope for the Hopeless Street Children Program
City: Addis Ababa
The Maranatha Gospel
Ministry ("Maranatha") was established
in 1993 to foster the growth and
development of female street children
in Ethiopia. Originally, it was only able to offer the children lunch on a daily basis
because it did not have a facility. Now they have two homes and care for both boys
and girls. Maranatha's goal is to place children with a family. Most, if not all, of the
families are poor, so the Ministry continues to provide basic necessities for the children
such as food, clothing, medical care, and educational aid.
